Department Chain Of Command

Within the Los Santos Police Department, the chain of command is strictly enforced. Any questions, concerns, or reports must be routed through your immediate superior and followed up the chain until a resolution is reached. Skipping ranks or bypassing the proper channels is not permitted and may result in disciplinary action.

The LSPD operates under a clearly defined chain of command to maintain order, accountability, and efficiency. Authority flows from the Chief of Police down through the ranks: Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, Division Chief, Chief of Staff, Commanders, Majors, Captains, Lieutenants, Sergeant Majors, Staff Sergeants, Sergeants, Corporals, and Officers. Each rank carries distinct responsibilities and leadership duties, ensuring that decisions are made effectively while maintaining oversight and discipline.

By following this chain, communication within the department remains clear, responsibilities are well-defined, and every officer understands their role in serving and protecting the citizens of Los Santos. Respecting the chain of command is not just protocol—it’s how the LSPD maintains professionalism, cohesion, and the trust of the community.

Department Code Of Ethics

The Los Santos Police Department upholds a Code of Ethics built on integrity, respect, and selfless service. Officers are expected to act with honesty, maintain strong moral principles, and remain accountable in all circumstances. This includes being truthful to themselves, their peers, and the public; upholding ethical conduct in every action; avoiding bias or favoritism; honoring commitments; and acknowledging mistakes openly. By adhering to these standards, the department ensures trust, professionalism, and fairness in every aspect of law enforcement.

Respect and selfless service are equally central to the LSPD’s mission. Officers treat all individuals courteously and professionally, listening to differing perspectives and supporting their peers and community with empathy and understanding. They perform their duties without expectation of personal gain, safeguarding citizens’ freedoms and rights, prioritizing teamwork, and putting the well-being of others above self-interest. By embracing these principles, LSPD officers serve the community with honor, compassion, and unwavering dedication.
